A contribution to our endowment fund is an investment in saving forested wetlands for future generations.

Woodlands Conservancy was formed as a non-profit land trust in 2001 to preserve and restore forested wetlands and other ecologically significant lands in Louisiana. We current own five properties and manage 840 acres of forested wetlands in the Greater New Orleans area.

The Woodlands Conservancy Endowment Fund was established in 2012 at the Greater New Orleans Foundation to provide a secure and sustainable source of annual earnings needed to manage and steward protected land … forever.

Endowment funds work by investing the principal of a charitable gift—using only the interest to support the work of Woodlands Conservancy for generations to come.

Woodlands Conservancy works with willing landowners, agencies, and organizations to acquire land and conservation easements through a variety of flexible approaches, many of which offer significant tax benefits to the landowner. Your donation to our endowment fund will go a long way to foster long-term land stewardship and conservation in your community.
