What we do

The goal of the Woodlands Friends is to create a group of young professionals who want to help Woodlands Conservancy in several key areas:

Advocacy: Our Woodlands Friends are a voice in the community for Woodlands Conservancy and help us get our message out to friends, family and colleagues. We promote the protection of our bottomland hardwood forests, and provide education on their importance as hurricane buffers for New Orleans and surrounding areas.

Business Connections: Through you, Woodlands Conservancy hopes to find connections within the New Orleans community to help support us through corporate giving, memberships, sponsorships and volunteer days.

Event planning: Our members are welcome and encouraged to join an event committee within the Woodlands Friends and help organize and run a fundraising event.

Volunteering: As part of your membership, we invite you to volunteer at an event or come and have a cold one with us while we plant trees and clear invasive species on the trails.
